Working alongside Scott on the Dallas Audiology Society board and as a colleague has been one of the true highlights of my professional journey. He has had such a deep influence in my audiology career, inspiring me and countless others to strive for excellence in our field. Scott has a genuine gift for uplifting those around him he’s been the biggest cheerleader for students and professionals across the entire metroplex and beyond. His encouragement, generosity, and tireless advocacy have left an indelible mark on our profession and community. When I first met Scott, I was just starting as an audiology extern at a private practice. Scott would give me a fist-bump in the morning and ask if it was going to be a great day. Each day began with a positive mindset, all from that quick little fist-bump. He keeps our office light with his humor but also takes the time to ask about personal life. One day, I asked Scott how he is always so positive. He answered that, as a young audiologist, he didn’t have the confidence that he has today, and he sees other audiologists struggling with confidence. Scott aims to be a mentor and positive light to other audiologists. He is compassionate, dedicated to the audiology field, and committed to helping fellow audiologists flourish. I feel fortunate to work alongside him and learn from him!
When someone works in one field for several years, it’s more common than not that their passion dims over time. That could never be true for Scott. His love for audiology and genuine concern for his patients is so encouraging to witness. He truly loves what he does and there’s nothing more inspiring.
